Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships Manager

Department: Corporate Relations
Location: Brooklyn, NY

BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) is a home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideas—engaging both global and local communities with world-renowned programming in theater, dance, music, opera, film, and much more. With an annual operating budget of approximately $50 million —the majority dedicated directly or indirectly to programming—BAM is a leading presenter of emerging and contemporary artists.

The Corporate Partnerships and Sponsorship Manager will effectively both fundraise and support the operations, growth and development of a comprehensive corporate funding program in order to meet or exceed BAM's annual corporate fundraising goal of $3.5 million.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of accounts, including prospecting, cultivation, and engagement.
  • Manage departmental operations, including streamlining processes and workflow, and improve departmental efficiency
  • Collaborate cross departmentally to improve business processes
  • Adapt to challenges and exercise flexibility in a fast-paced environment
  • Assist at various special events annually
  • As needed, act as a host to visiting sponsors at face-to-face meetings, opening night receptions, Galas, and miscellaneous events; occasionally “meet and greet” at the Patron Table on performance nights

Account Management, Fulfillment and Activation

  • Maintain active ongoing communication with sponsors within account portfolio
  • Support on and off-site sponsorship activations
  • Manage ticket and discount requests
  • Submit production requests for all sponsor related branding collateral
  • Track internal and external sponsor brand visibility during sponsors promotional period (including on-site and off-site signage, digital platforms, print collateral)

Department Operations

  • Support the accounts receivable/payable process, including assistance with purchase orders, contribution forms.
  • Draft and track of contribution correspondences
  • Manage and strategize systems for the departments electronic filing system
  • Oversee and track department resources
  • Update Tessitura with all pertinent donor/sponsor information/updates
  • Oversee research briefs about the corporate community as it relates to corporate giving,
  • sponsorships, innovations and trends.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing to procure marketing data to be used for benefit fulfillment reports
  • Assist with streamlining all internal and external document templates for both narrative and visual funder proposals, reports, and one pagers.
  • Assist in staffing after hours funder events and activations

Asset Management

  • Track and manage incoming departmental routings to ensure proper funder recognition
  • Regularly verify and archive sponsor visibility, including archiving final files of marketing collateral, photo-archiving onsite and offsite signage, and taking photos at sponsor activations both onsite and offsite.
  • Oversee Workfront requests, and subsequent cross departmental follow up and communication

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years' past fundraising/development experience
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in evaluation and problem solving
  • Ability to work cross-departmentally
  • Ability to communicate  with high-level sponsors
  • Knowledge of and passion for BAM programming 
  • Required technical/administrative skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Internet applications, Tessitura, Relationship Science, and Wealth Engine.
  • Customer Service oriented
  • Excellent Team player

Salary: Commensurate with experience.  Comprehensive benefits package including pension.
