Digital Media Coordinator

Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) is a multi-disciplinary arts center located in Brooklyn, New York. For more than 150 years, BAM has been the home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideas—engaging both global and local communities. With world-renowned programming in theater, dance, music, opera, film, and much more, BAM showcases the work of emerging artists and innovative modern masters.

BAM seeks a Digital Media Coordinator to own the process for developing promotional emails and support the creation of BAM's marketing emails. This role will collaborate with our Senior Manager, Digital Media, and Director of Engagement and Insights to learn and grow their digital production skills. The ideal candidate is interested in expanding their digital production career, has strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and has prior experience with HTML templates. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the creation, updating, and sending of BAM's marketing emails using HTML templates
  • Update, maintain, and QA BAM's digital signage channels
  • QA deliverables to ensure accuracy and meet deadlines; troubleshoot any issues discovered during QA with the production team and email vendors 
  • Provide support to the Senior Manager, Digital Media
  • Collaborate with the Director of Engagement and Insights to learn about the creation of email distribution lists
  • Continuously search for and offer new ideas and advice on the UX of BAM emails and web pages
  • Other ad hoc assignments as necessary 

Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • At least one year of experience working in digital production 
  • Prior experience building HTML emails with strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize deliverables 
  • Prior experience managing digital properties using content management systems 
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics 
  • Ability to foresee roadblocks and suggest solutions in advance 
  • Enthusiasm for BAM and ability to work in a team environment to support of BAM business objectives 
  • Excellent command of details with the ability to prioritize and focus on meeting objectives 
  • Interest in digital production career growth 
  • Strong interpersonal skills for positive collaboration with clients while keeping an eye on priorities and time management 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented 
  • Commitment to fostering a positive work environment

  • Comfortable working with DEI concepts, programs, and initiatives

Compensation: The salary for this position is $45,588 per year. The role is represented by Local 2110 and will be paid in accordance with the BAM/UAW Local 2110 Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is full-time, non-exempt, and eligible for benefits.
