Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) is a multi-disciplinary arts center located in Brooklyn, New York. For more than 150 years, BAM has been the home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideas, engaging global and local communities. With world-renowned programming in theater, dance, music, opera, film, and much more, BAM showcases the work of emerging artists and innovative modern masters.
BAM seeks a highly qualified and experienced Arts and Academic Pathways Instructor and Curator for our Brooklyn Interns for Arts and Culture (BIAC) program for high school seniors interested in exploring academic and career experiences in the performing, visual, administrative, and liberal arts.
The instructor will support students in their college application processes, introduce them to myriad artistic careers and institutions, support students in the scholarship and financial aid process, execute teen-related events for our annual DanceAfrica festival, and curate teen-centered social outings and events for students to build community.

Ability to work during school and/or after-school hours
Teaching and facilitation will occur in traditional (i.e., public school classroom, field trips) and non-traditional learning environments.
Meetings and professional development generally occur on the Brooklyn Academy of Music's campus.
This is a hybrid role. Duties will be performed in-person and remotely.
