Manager of Web Operations

BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) is a multi-disciplinary arts center located in Brooklyn, New York. For more than 150 years, BAM has been the home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideas—engaging both global and local communities. With world-renowned programming in theater, dance, music, opera, film, and much more, BAM showcases the work of emerging artists and innovative modern masters.

The Manager of Web Operations is BAM’s primary business owner for BAM’s websites. A member of BAM’s Digital Media team, the Manager of Web Operations is responsible for collaborating with clients to gather needs, requirements and feasibility of projects for work plan creation. They are responsible for executing work plans by (1) managing production process through communication with clients and removing roadblocks to streamline process and (2) coordinating completion of or executing production tasks. And the Manager of Web Operations acts as primary QA ensuring accuracy and quality on BAM's public facing web sites. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities   

  • Manage production tasks for web pages including build, technical QA, and campaign sends
  • Participate with client groups and creative team to identify needs and requirements for web sites; resolve any barriers from technical implementation
  • Update clients and web team on production burndown, highlighting schedule changes on a daily basis
  • Monitor workload for the web channel and identify project prioritization when bandwidth is exceeded; highlight discrepancies in resource requirements to project value

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2—5 years’ experience working in digital production with web production responsibilities
  • Experience with Content Management Systems such as Umbraco and EpiServer
  • Experience with project management software such as WorkFront or Smartsheet
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS
  • A team player who is tactful, flexible and able to understand and balance a variety of considerations and perspectives
  • Fastidious attention to detail and quality assurance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Agile Product Development
  • Experience with Tessitura
  • Thinks creatively and identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Takes initiative and holds self and others accountable for meeting deadlines
Salary: Commensurate with experience.  Comprehensive benefits package including pension.
